Yusuf Adelopo, a father-of-one, has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 6-year-old girl around Okesanya area in Mushin, Lagos. His arrest was sequel to a medical confirmation by specialists at the Mushin General Hospital that there was penetration and the girl’s hymen has been ruptured.
The incident took place on the 18th of March, 2016, when the girl returned from school and met no one at home. She then went to Yusuf’s shop to ask the whereabouts of her siblings only for Yusuf to taker her to the back of the house and raped her on a bench he had earlier kept under the staircase.
This was after he had spat on her private part. The girl also reportedly said Yusuf used a rag to clean her private part and threatened her not to tell anyone. The bubble however burst after she narrated what transpired between her and Yusuf to her sibling who, thereafter, informed their parents.
Consequently, Yusuf was arrested. The case has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Yaba. The spokesperson for Lagos State Police Command, Dolapo Badmus, a Superintendent, says the case is still being investigated.
