Chibude Chide, 44, was arrested by NDLEA officers at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos while on his way to China, with 1.185kg of cocaine safely hidden inside his intestine. The Enugu State born man said: “I am married with a child. I
used to sell clothes. My problem started in 2008 such that I lost all my 3 big shops.
I see it as a spiritual attack because I lost everything I had labored to acquire over the years. I sold the only property I have in Enugu with the hope of relocating to Lagos. Unfortunately, I listened to wrong advice and invested my last savings in cocaine business. They assured me that I could earn twice the amount I invested in the deal.”
When asked if he was aware that drug trafficking attracts death penalty in China, he said: “I never thought of it. My entire attention was on the N4m profits I would have made from my trip.”….. he was later released to go n quickly return d cocaine so as to get his N2m back…..
