Here is an update on how your donation towards the IDP Camp in Biu, Borno, was utilized

Bukky Shonibare is the coordinator of Adopt-A-Camp, an NGO that caters to the wellbeing of Internally Displaced persons. Earlier this month, Seun, a doctor volunteering with the group, made an appeal via Twitter, for donations and we blogged it.

On Saturday, Shonibare took to her Facebook page to provide an update on the donations made. In the post, she said:

“YOU DID THIS!

Dear Friends,

Between Friday, 8th April and today, April 23rd (2 weeks), we’ve received total donation of N1,958,500 to provide Health support for the IDP Camp in Biu, Borno State. We’ve since disbursed as follows:

1. N100,000 for purchasing drugs and offsetting hospital bills for some IDPs who had health challenges. The attached before-and-after pictures are some of the outcomes.

2. N1,000,000 donated to support a Cancer patient in Biu community who need to undergo surgery in India. They are now getting ready. I’d give updates when available.

3. N780,000 paid as initial deposit to commence building of 8 units of Bathrooms and Toilets, Drainage System, and a Health Centre. Work commences today. We’d bring you updates as we progress.

Special THANKS to Dr. Seaun Gbadebo.

THANK YOU, Nigeria.
