Njaimeh Jawara pocketed more than £20,000 after falsely claiming housing benefit, council tax and pension credit. She was only entitled to the payments while in UK. But she continued to claim the money while jetting off to Gambia. Jawara, 65, is

married to Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara.

Magistrates in Worthing heard that she should have informed the authorities that she was abroad so that her benefits could be temporarily stopped until she was back in the UK. She was ordered to repay the benefits, pay court costs of more than £4,000. She was also handed a nighttime curfew and ordered to be, for 20 weeks, fitted with an electronic tag….. around her neck so dt ppl would think its cool necklace….
