Promise, 7, was stabbed with a broken bottle by her mother, Mrs. Blessing Fred, in the Ijaiye-Ojokoro area of Lagos. Promise had gone to their neighbors apartment and met their 5-year-old daughter all alone at home. He took her to
his mother’s room where he allegedly told her to remove her clothes and lie down.
He then slept on top of the girl and fiddled with her private parts. The girl narrated what happened to her mother when she came back. The mother then invited Promise to her apartment and verified the story. He initially denied but when reassured that his mom won’t be told, he opened up.
He said he had been doing it with his step-sister too. The woman later reported Promise to his mother, Blessing, and he confessed to her as well. Blessing first blessed him with some strokes of cane. Then all of a sudden, she smashed a bottle and stabbed him in the back with it. Promise was later rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital while Blessing was arrested by policemen from the Ijaiye-Ojokoro Police Division….. ppl r advocating for a life sentence for her…..
