Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, and his two sons were granted bail today by a federal court in Abuja. They are to be released from prison once the bail conditions are met. They are facing money laundering charges, brought against them by EFCC. They

were arraigned last week in Kano, and were later remanded pending their bail application hearing on September 28.

They were however transferred secretly to Kuje prison in Abuja yesterday, ahead of a hearing today, after another judge was assigned to consider the bail application. Lamido was granted bail on self recognition and required to release his international passport to the court.

His two sons, Aminu and Mustapha, and their alleged accomplice, Wada Abubakar, were ordered to pay the sum of N25m each. They were further asked to provide two sureties, one of who must be a civil servant not bellow grade level 16 and must have landed property valued at N75m…… Lamido’s Yoruba supporters were seen at d court premises hailing him wt his new nickname, “tèwòndé.” Only God knows it’s meaning…..
