Mrs. Olamide Bello, 52, resides at 8, Adeniji Street, Meiran, with her husband and step-children. She told her husband, Wasiu Bello, that she was pregnant and had been instructed to go to Port Harcourt, Rivers State for delivery. She spent
two weeks there and returned with a set of twins, a boy and a girl.
Curious neighbours who never saw her with pregnancy because her stomach was as flat as that of a successful model, alerted the police. Upon her arrest, she insisted that she gave birth to the twins and also suggested the police should take her to a medical doctor to confirm her claim.
It was at the hospital that doctors confirmed that she is not the biological mother of the babies. At that point she had to confess that she bought the babies in Port Harcourt for N1.9m…. she said she was even lucky to get them at dt price cuz d price of newborns as gone up due to d current fuel scarcity…..
