The forensic audit conducted by the audit firm of PriceWaterHouseCoopers on behalf of the FG on the operations of NNPC has indicted the management of NNPC for various questionable
transactions. Now about $1.48b is to be refunded and returned to the Federation Account for various unreconciled transactions.

The forensic audit was commissioned following allegation by the immediate past Governor of the CBN, Lamido Sanusi, that about $20b oil money was missing from the NNPC. A Senate probe into the allegation yielded no result. Mr. Sanusi was later fired by President Jonathan after he was accused of “financial recklessness”. The government said no money was missing.

The report should have been ready at most by September last year. But the government only publicly received the report on Monday after agitations by the masses. More details of report to come….. now dt Emir Sanusi has been proven right, it’s not yet sure whether he’d b willing to return to his position as d CBN governor…..
